We take full advantage of our School woods, which the children explore daily whatever the weather. Once appropriately dressed, they head off into the woods to explore and learn in the Woodland Nursery. The 2022 Summer Term will see the arrival of a new wooden cabin in the woods used as headquarters for the Acorns and Oaks, from which to explore the grounds, and develop those crucial life skills of communication, collaboration, problem-solving, initiative, and independence.
After drop-off, our day starts at 8.45 am with registration followed by a morning of child-led activities and plenty of time out in the woods. The children are served a hot lunch at 12.10 pm, followed by play time in the Nursery garden. The afternoon session is another opportunity for creativity and activities, finishing at 3.30 pm, with the option of after school care until 5.00 pm.
From September 2022, our youngest pupils, ‘Acorns’, will be able to start Nursery at the beginning of the term that they turn three, either on a part-time or full-time basis, to help them flourish into ‘Oaks’. The number of days and hours chosen can be flexible, although we encourage children to attend a minimum of 3 mornings a week, from 8.30 am - 12.00 pm, or until 1.00 pm including a home-cooked lunch. Full school days run until 3.30 pm, with the option of after school care until 5.00 pm.
